Yesterday my father-in-law Larry “the Mole” Taylor passed away...

Yesterday my father-in-law Larry “the Mole” Taylor passed away after a battle with cancer that lasted over a decade. Larry was an incredibly talented musician with a huge list of accomplishments and credits. He started out as a session bassist for Jerry Lee Lewis and The Monkees, before going on to join Canned Heat with whom he played Woodstock 50 years ago last Saturday. He also worked with the Hollywood Fats Band, John Mayell’s Bluesbreakers, Kim Wilson, Buddy Guy and played on Tom Waits albums from ‘Heartattack and Vine’ in 1980 through to ‘Bad As Me’ in 2011. And many many more. He loved music and left a legacy that will live on long after all of us. But his greatest accomplishment in my opinion was being @d4b33b ‘s poppa. Over the last few months it has been very hard and it was extremely inspiring to see how the Becca, her sister @mysticred85 , and Her mom @taylor6927 came together and did everything they could to help Larry through the last six grueling . Here is a great picture of us goofing around back stage during the Ottowa Blues Festival in 2015. My heart goes out to the Taylor family and my deepest condolences go out to all of you who were touched by Larry and his music. Don’t forget to boogie. 🎸🎶🎹#RIPLarryTaylor #cannedheat #RIPtheMole #Blues #blueslegend #woodstock #tomwaits via Instagram https://ift.tt/31N48aM
