more nostalgia from a hungover so and so. (Originally posted on MySpace on Friday, September 23, 2005)

First off, I drank waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much last night.

Actually it wasn't quantity so much as quality in this case. I had only three drinks...in this order.

1. a shot of tequila...fair enough...no harm no foul here...just loosening up before perv.

2. an ice cold miller light...this was in my mind "sort of like" dinner...since it is filled with oaty goodness...still somewhat reserved...

3. a horrid concoction called "liquid cocaine"...which for the unitiated (of which I was until last night) consists of GoldSchlagger, Jagermeister, and of course 151. and that's it. no other "mixers" just three of the most horrific intoxicating liquid torture devices....in a 16 ounce glass...

So yeah, basically i was totally wasted. I am not proud of this mind you. I am ashamed of myself. I was only trying to innocently party...and I turned into a staggaring boob. A real loud asshole...a jerk, I spilled ezzy's drink...I burned becca...it sucked.

Speaking of Becca she was a good sport about it...but I know she was pissed...she doesn't really like it when I get that drunk...at all...

So anyway i'm paying for it now...with a massive hangover...

but the thrust of today's musing isn't of the "i'm never going to drink again" line. Its this:

I burned this big disc of Nirvana MP3s (my cd player in the car has the genius ability to play Mp3 dvds...bah, who needs an ipod...i could buy like 3000 CDs for the price of one and have things organized by CD...guess it's a matter of taste...

Anyway. when Nirvana was still around I was a fan. NOt a BIG fan. just a regular...turn them up if their on the radio, own a couple of singles type of fan. But man, I forgot how good they were...really puts the 80s throwback / 70s garage band SHIT they play on the radio into perspective...I'd say lately, as far as top 40 goes I can TOLERATE the killers, the bravery, and maybe My Chemical Romance...but outside of that I don't see myself listening to MP3 discs of their shit ten years from now and really going, "Fuck these songs are so good...how can they be so good...it makes no sense...why didn't i appreciate them more when I could have seen them in concert."

No. At least I won't. Maybe kids 10 years yonger than me will, when they get out of college and start going to 90s clubs and shit like that.

But I think that I could never get tired of screaming along to Breed. That shit just puts me in a good mood. Fuckin Kurt Coban.

I'm sad he's dead. Why couldn't it have been the guy from Soundgarden or the fucking drug addict lead singer from Stone Temple Pilots, he was begging for it for years...why? Why did Pearl Jam get to live long enough to fade into mediocrity...

Kind of makes you wonder if Nirvana would have degenerated into "experimental" synth /goth territory like Smashing Pumpkins...or gone back to their "roots" like Pearl Jam.

hmmmmmm...oh well...
