I can't say I've ever heard of this guy before, but apparantly he does commentary for Day to Day on NPR, so I'm sure I've heard him...just don't remember. Anyway...I was so compelled by the Valley Remembered site I posted yesterday that I went searching for other LA historical tid-bits. And came across Charles Phoenix's Site. The highlight in my opinion are the Americana slides he's found at yard sales all over the southland (for the record I hate referring to southern california as the southland, but given how kitschy this guys stuff is it fits.). Anyway check it out. I know at least Aaron will appreciate it.
